On the basis of whether aluminium profiles have or do not have thermal insulation between external and internal side of the profile, they are divided into two groups:

  • profiles without thermal break
  • profiles with thermal break

Profiles without thermal break are used where the passage of thermal energy through the profile is not important. They are used in climate zones where the temperature during a year does not drop below 0o C, inside a facility, in the facilities of commerical nature (officies, warehouses, stocks, garages).

Profiles with thermal break are designed in such a way that there is a thermalinsulative material between an external and internal profile.There are few ways of achieving thermal break but a method of thermal break with lamellas of polyamide took presedence. Lamellas can be 8, 16 or 24 mm wide and in that way they affect the thermal conductivity.
